Day 04. Which is/are your favourite scene(s) in the anime?

all right, so when i started watching kurobas, i never had any intense feelings for kuroko. if anything, i had intense feelings for kagami. kuroko was unique (and yes, cute) but he wasn’t excitable as a character especially during the beginning. the first glimpse i had of kuroko was his annoyance during the match with papa, where he was called a kid. a slight furrow of his brow, that was it.

but then this episode. this beautiful episode where the entire team was driven against a wall (that is midorima) and we see kuroko standing up to kagami. it asserted the fact that the reason why kuroko came up with his own way to play basketball was because he didn’t like how the generation of miracles played it. he wanted a victory where everyone would be proud, where everyone would be happy. cheesy—as staple shounen lines may be—but he has a point. and coming from kuroko, with that intense look in his eyes, this is delivered in perfection.

this is also probably the scene where i started liking kagami/kuroko. they have so much unspoken understanding, and they know when to keep each other in line. i am always so easy for pairs who connect on a different level.

ANOTHER FAVORITE EPISODE IS EPISODE 17 BECAUSE A O M I N E. enough said. (no gifs because i think i reblogged the shit out of that episode already)

Day 03. Which is/are your favourite match(es)? [Including the manga]

i did love the second touo vs seirin match. that was just too intense for me, and i like the excitement brought about by unpredictability of both teams. i was rooting for both aomine AND kagami and i was basically a mess of feelings when it was all over. that was an interesting development, seeing aomine in a new light and just bringing forth kuroko and kagami’s commendable teamwork (both on and off the court).
but (expectedly) i still love the kaijou vs touo match the most. prior to this, i always saw kise as the pretty boy of the group, slightly an airhead with a slight arrogance. but this match gave so much depth to his character, and offered a lot of insight as to why and how he became who he is. and i loved every minute of it. i never entered this fandom expecting major character development, but the mangaka delivered and it was kise who caught my eye. the entire match, i was rooting for him to win because his determination speaks volumes just from these black and white images. this match was intense as well, although admittedly not as intense as seirin vs touo. but intense in a way that there is a lot on the line for this match, and not only the championship title—both for aomine and for kise.
asdkjbas aghhh so now i will stop because once again, kise feelings.

Kuroko no Basket 30 Day Challenge: DAY 02

Day 02. Do you read the manga or watch the anime? Or both?

got hooked into the series by the anime, and by then i was telling myself NOT to get into anything else as i really do not need the distraction. but eventually gave in to reading the manga—it was really aomine/kise’s fault because a friend of mine linked me to the kaijou vs touo arc and askjabwabjks feelings all over the place.

spent four days catching up with 17 volumes. it was an amazing time.

Kuroko no Basket 30 Day Challenge: DAY 01

Day 01. How did you get to know Kurobas?

all right, so this is probably a weird answer but i forgot. it’s just one day in april, i was going around on a download spree and i found myself on kurobimu and i saw the kurobas anime. i downloaded the first four episodes for the hell of it, but never actually watched it. the episodes just sat in my HD for several more weeks. until one day when i was stuck in my mom’s office with nothing to do, i decided to give it a try.

AND WOW. i mean WOW.

the four episodes went by in a blur, and i was actually cheering. in real life. for a fictional basketball game. it’s kind of amazing how this fandom sucked me in so quickly, given that i have been listless with my other fandoms previously. that then spawned the addiction that eventually became my life.
